Japan-based Eisai Inc., an oncology- and neurology-focused pharmaceutical company, on Tuesday said it is relocating its New Jersey-based headquarters to the ON3 campus in Nutley.

The company plans to transfer up to 1,200 corporate staff and research and development functions from Woodcliff Lake to Nutley in late 2021. Eisai will fully occupy 200 Metro Blvd., the campus’ flagship LEED Gold certified office tower.

The new, 15-story ON3 Eisai Inc. location features significant space to offer the company’s existing employee population comfortable surroundings with room for company expansion. This state of the art building and campus will ultimately bring all of Eisai’s New Jersey-based employees together in one place and foster extensive employee engagement and collaboration.

“Eisai is a human health care company. This ON3 Eisai workplace will bring the Eisai community together in one place and drive a culture of new scientific horizons and entrepreneurial innovation,” said Eisai President Tatsuyuki Yasuno. “We draw inspiration from our patients and passion from our people. We break barriers every day. Our workplace will too.”

Prism Capital Partners owners Eugene Diaz and Edwin Cohen are the real estate developers for the 116-acre ON3 site.

“We are excited to welcome Eisai Inc. as the first biopharmaceutical company to this thriving center for health care,” said Diaz.

“Eisai brings exceptional scientific and business expertise to this ever-expanding center for New Jersey and global business in a lease that has brought the Campus to 100 percent occupancy,” Cohen added.

Eisai was represented in negotiations by Savills Gregg Najarian, Daniel Foley, Chip Conklin and Nathan Brzozowski; Andrea Borrelli, a workplace strategist and project management specialist at Savills, will advise on Eisai’s buildout. Additionally, Savills was instrumental in assisting Eisai in the procurement process for engineering, architecture and construction management firms. The Cushman & Wakefield team of Robert Rudin, Josh Cohen and Bill Brown serves as exclusive leasing agent for 200 Metro Boulevard, representing Prism Capital Partners.
