Two companies left as winners from TechLaunch BullPen No. 15, held Wednesday evening at Monmouth University.

eMedEvents walked away with the investor award – and more than $15,000 in professional services – while Hooke Audio took home the Audience Choice Award.

BullPen, from Kinnelon-based tech-accelerator TechLaunch, is a quarterly Shark Tank-like pitch competition that allows companies the opportunity to present to an audience featuring investors, entrepreneurs, academics, business people, mentors and students.

In addition to services won from event sponsors Gibbons Law, Withum, Gearhart Law and Casabona Ventures, eMedEvents will also have the opportunity to pitch at a meeting of early-stage investor group – and also a sponsor of the event – Jumpstart NJ Angel Network.

Priya Korrapati, co-founder and chief executive officer of winning global medical conference and continuing education platform eMedEvents, said in a prepared statement that the BullPen No. 15 prizes would “go far in helping eMedEvents to navigate our future well.”

Audience favorite Hooke Audio is a patented audio recording application, compatible with any mobile device. According to TechLaunch, it “recreates a true sonic experience that accentuates video playback with exceptional realism.” According to a prepared statement from Hooke Founder and CEO Anthony Mattana, the company has participated in more than 35 pitch competitions in 2019.

Entrepreneur and investor, and Tech Council Ventures Entrepreneur-in-Residence Mark Kolb; Inc. Magazine and Inc.com Editor-at-Large Kimberly Weisul; entrepreneur and angel investor, and Traliant chief growth officer Jeff Weinstein; and entrepreneur and angel investor Allen Fogel of Robin Hood Ventures & Golden Seeds served as judges for the event.

“Last night’s BullPen was a real nail biter, as we witnessed three fiercely intelligent presenters, each of whom are poised to take their companies far on the track to success,” TechLaunch Founder Mario Casabona said in a prepared statement.

The third presenter referenced by Casabona was Teleplus Healthcare – presented by co-founder and CEO Dr. Suzanne Shugg, which offers chronic care management on a global scale to providers to assist with the prevention of relapse and readmission to hospitals.
