Morristown’s En Masse Coworking on Dec. 17 became the latest addition to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s NJ Ignite program.

According to NJEDA, En Masse is a women-led space currently boasting 85 members in industries including finance, accounting, technology and pharma that range from freelancers and entrepreneurs, to small businesses and individuals working remotely for large corporations. To date, the NJEDA has approved 18 locations to provide rent support for startups through NJ Ignite.

Located off the Morristown Green, En Masse Coworking is the city’s largest coworking space, NJEDA said.

“Our coworking space brings together a wide variety of careers allowing everyone the opportunity to focus on relationship building and networking,” En Masse Founder Merri Sheh said in a statement. “’Make yourself at home at work’ is our motto, and it truly speaks to the welcoming atmosphere that we foster here.

“We are delighted that NJ Ignite will help us attract new technology and life sciences-focused entrepreneurs and professionals to our space,” she added.

The NJ Ignite provides up to nine months of rent support for tech and life sciences startups that move into an approved workspace. Support for the program comes from NJEDA and the workspace – with the former covering up to six months’ rent and the latter covering rent for half the time of the NJEDA’s commitment.

Sheh said En Masse Coworking holds a variety of networking events for members, fulfilling the stipulation that, in addition to the financial commitment, participating workspaces offer a minimum of eight “innovation-ecosystem-building” meetups per year.
