Freddy’s, which is known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, shoestring fries and freshly churned frozen custard, made its Garden State debut in August 2021 at 810 W. Edgar Road in Linden.

Founded 21 years ago in Wichita, Kan., Freddy’s now has more than 450 locations across 30-plus states.

After the brand was acquired in March 2021 by Thompson Street Capital Partners, the private equity firm set a goal to double that footprint within the next four years, bringing the total unit count to 800 by 2026.
