Sandra Kenoff –

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey announced Feb. 17 that Sandra Kenoff has been appointed as president and chief executive officer of the development organization for girls.

Dennis C. Miller Associates Inc., a nonprofit leadership executive search firm, led the national search and selection process on behalf of the Girl Scouts.

Kenoff, who has a background in marketing and fund development, joined the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey‘s executive team in 2018 as chief development and communications officer.

According to the announcement, Kenoff has been instrumental in maximizing donor acquisition, engagement and retention and has executed integrated marketing and communications plans for the program. Kenoff also serves on the Girl Scouts of the USA’s Marketing Advisory Committee and is responsible for developing the council’s Media Girls program, which provides Girl Scouts with the opportunity to serve as brand ambassadors for GSNNJ.

“Sandra’s strategic leadership, business acumen and depth of knowledge pertaining to all things Girl Scouts make her the ideal candidate for this role,” Bette Simmons, GSNNJ board chair, said in a prepared statement. “Since joining the organization in 2018, Sandra has made tremendous and invaluable contributions to Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey, and we look forward to working with her to continue to enhance and expand opportunities for girls as well as access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience throughout northern New Jersey.”

In her new role with the Riverdale organization, Kenoff will provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure GSNNJ continues to realize its mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character. She will spearhead leadership development, community engagement, program development, fund development and membership development, as well as ensure operational efficiency.

“Sandra has demonstrated unwavering leadership especially throughout the pandemic and has helped to evolve and shape our council to position us for continued success,” Shanna Jafri, GSNNJ first vice chair and chair of the search committee, said in the statement.

Kenoff added, “It’s truly an honor to have been selected by the board of directors as the new president and CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey. It has always been my goal to expand the impact and reach of the Girl Scout leadership experience in northern New Jersey, and I look forward to building upon that goal in an even greater capacity in the coming months. I will continue to partner with our board of directors, staff and volunteers to uphold the mission and values of the organization to give every girl an opportunity to find and use their voice and talents to make the world and their communities a better place.”

Previously, Kenoff served as director of marketing and special events for JCC of Central New Jersey and has also held several roles in marketing, advertising and communications with firms such as J. Walter Thompson, Foote, Cone & Belding, and Grey Advertising. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, an active member of the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association Career Networking Group and the New Jersey Pitt Alumni Club.
