The two New Jersey gubernatorial candidates will appear at this year’s “MADE in NJ” Manufacturing Day.
The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program announced July 1 that the annual event will feature Democratic candidate Mikie Sherrill and Republican hopeful Jack Ciattarelli. This year’s Manufacturing Day takes place Oct. 3 at iPlay America in Freehold.
Manufacturing Day is the state’s largest annual manufacturing event. This year’s comes at a critical time for the sector, amid a slew of workforce, supply chain, and policy challenges with state and federal funding. There is also a push to onshore more manufacturing. Additionally, a recent key piece of legislation passed with the state budget offering $500 million in manufacturing incentives here in Jersey.
On the heels of a record-setting 2024 event – the NJMEP expects this year’s Manufacturing Day to again break the attendance record. That’s especially likely given the presence of the two gubernatorial candidates just about a month out from Election Day.
NJMEP Chief Executive Officer Peter Connolly said this is a defining moment.

“Having both gubernatorial candidates commit to speaking at ‘MADE in NJ’ Manufacturing Day shows just how vital manufacturing is to the future of our state,” said Connolly. “This may be the only chance many of our manufacturers will have to hear, in person, how each candidate plans to support their businesses moving forward.”
