Lafond joins Urban Engineers as corporate safety director

Urban Engineers said Monday Kelvin Lafond has been brought on as the corporate safety director.

Lafond will focus on providing construction and design safety programs including safety orientations, safety training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, and the use of protective equipment. He will be based in the firm’s Cherry Hill location.

“We are excited to have an individual of Kelvin’s character and expertise join our firm,” said Urban President and Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Fulmer. “He is a proven talent with a varied background across industries that will provide great guidance and counsel to help us achieve safety excellence.”

His previous experience includes working at American Water where he developed and implemented delivery and verification of enterprise health and safety programs. Prior to that, Lafond worked as the safety officer for DLA Distribution in Yokosuka, Japan. He also served as a command safety and quality assurance representative during his military career.
