Pacira BioSciences Inc. of Parsippany and the National Senior Games Association garnered a Guinness World Record for the largest game of freeze dance, with 1,308 participants.

The record was broken at Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park in Fort Lauderdale during the 2022 National Senior Games on May 16. An official judge from Guinness World Records was onsite for the event and confirmed the new record.

Freeze dance was chosen by the group as a nod to Iovera, a hand-held pain relief device manufactured by Pacira that works by delivering extreme cold therapy to treat nerves.

Pacira Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications Amber Sears said that partnering with the NGSA to break the Guinness World Record gave the company “a unique and engaging way to inform this active audience about the non-opioid options available to treat chronic and postsurgical knee pain. Our work with prestigious partners like NSGA allows us to strengthen our commitment to patients by educating them on products, like Iovera, that can provide immediate, long-lasting relief of acute and chronic pain.”
