Eric LeGrand has set the opening date for his second . The location will begin welcoming customers during a “LeGrand Opening” celebration July 25.

Located at 1500 Route 35, Unit 17, in the Kings Commons shopping center, the new café will celebrate its debut from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The new store marks the next milestone for LeGrand Coffee House. The brand launched as an online coffee business in 2021 before opening its first brick-and-mortar location in Woodbridge in 2022, a journey NJBIZ has reported extensively on.

The brand has since grown into a nationally recognized specialty coffee company. It has remained rooted in New Jersey through its “A Daily Cup of bELieve” mission of bringing people together through coffee and positivity.

“We are super excited to be opening up LeGrand Coffee House with my partners in Middletown,” said Eric LeGrand, founder and CEO of LeGrand Coffee House. “The entire town has been fired up about it, and we can’t wait to welcome them into our doors to serve them their daily cups of bELieve.”

Household name

LeGrand, whose No. 52 jersey is the only one retired in Rutgers football history, has become a nationally recognized motivational speaker, author, podcast host and entrepreneur since sustaining a spinal cord injury during a 2010 game. His growing business portfolio also includes Eric LeGrand Bourbon, which he co-founded with Brian Axelrod.

LeGrand announced plans for the Middletown expansion in February. He later discussed the project in greater detail during a three-part interview series with NJBIZ earlier this year.

During that interview, LeGrand said the Middletown café would follow the same blueprint as the original Woodbridge location. The site would feature the same menu, vendors and community-focused atmosphere that helped establish the business as a neighborhood gathering place. He also credited the flagship location’s steady year-over-year growth and loyal customer base with making the expansion possible.

The grand opening celebration is free and open to the public.
