The FIFA World Cup may be over, but the countdown to football season is on. As fans gear up for kickoff this fall, United Airlines is adding nonstop flights and larger aircraft to help travelers get to some of college football‘s biggest matchups.

For travelers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport, that includes seven special nonstop flights to Green Bay and South Bend. The new routes make it easier for University of Notre Dame and University of Wisconsin–Madison fans to catch the action in person.

United is adding special nonstop service from Newark to Green Bay for Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin at Lambeau Field Sept. 6, with outbound flights Sept. 5 and 6 and a return flight Sept. 7. The airline is also adding nonstop flights from Newark to South Bend for six Notre Dame home games this season:

• Rice University at Notre Dame Sept. 12
• Michigan State University at Notre Dame Sept. 19
• Stanford University at Notre Dame Oct. 10
• University of Miami at Notre Dame Nov. 7
• Boston College at Notre Dame Nov. 14
• SMU (Southern Methodist University) at Notre Dame Nov. 21

Each matchup includes a nonstop flight to South Bend the day before the game as well as a return flight the day after.

Getting there

“As fans get ready to cheer on their favorite teams this fall, we’re adding flights across the country to college football’s biggest matchups,” said United Managing Director of Domestic Schedule Development Michael Weeks. “From action-packed games to historic rivalries, these are the moments fans look forward to, and we’re thrilled to help them get there.”

United will also expand service for fans traveling to other marquee college football games across the country, including:

• The Ohio State University at University of Texas at Austin
• Wisconsin at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State)
• University of Alabama at University of Tennessee
• University of Oregon at The Ohio State
• Texas at Louisiana State University (LSU)
• and other high-profile matchups

Fans flying United can also take advantage of free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members, now available on more than 450 United aircraft, allowing travelers to stream games, check scores and stay connected throughout their flight.
