After serving the community for more than 40 years, Mercer Mall is rebranding as Mercer on One.

Federal Realty Investment Trust recently announced the new name for the 551,000-square-foot shopping center located on Route 1 in Lawrenceville. According to the retail-focused real estate investment trust, the updated moniker is part of its ongoing investment and commitment to growth in the region.

Mercer on One is also welcoming two new tenants: J. Crew Factory and Crate & Barrel Outlet.

According to Federal Realty Vice President of Regional Leasing Jeffrey Fischer, “the shopping center has been a foundation of the Lawrenceville community and culture. The rebrand captures the essence of the shopping center’s location and offerings, creating an all-in-one destination for residents and visitors.”

The rebrand was led by Maryland-based Ashton Design, a full-service, multidisciplinary studio focused on branding and placemaking. The company’s other work includes America’s longest continually operating public market, Lexington Market in Baltimore, and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Mercer on One features more than 50 stores and restaurants, including Nike, REI, Nordstrom Rack, ShopRite and Bonefish Grill.

Beyond the center’s new name, shopping options and signage, which is expected to be installed this fall, footwear retailer DSW will undergo a full remodel and façade modifications, Federal Realty said.

The trust’s other New Jersey properties include Brick Plaza in Brick, Brook 35 & West in Sea Girt, Ellisburg Shopping Center in Cherry Hill, The Grove at Shrewsbury in Shrewsbury, Troy Hills Shopping Center in Parsippany, and a 171,000-square-foot portfolio in Hoboken primarily located along Washington Street.

New additions

Occupying a 6,100-square-foot space at Mercer on One, classic American brand J. Crew Factory will offer its styles for men, women and children from a spot adjacent to DSW. According to Federal Realty, the retailer will open at Mercer on One in 2024.

Already welcoming shoppers, contemporary furniture, houseware and décor company Crate & Barrel’s Outlet occupies a 42,000-square-foot location next to Nike.

And, watch this space: Federal Realty says it plans to announce more tenants in the coming months.
