Mercer County community Hopewell is set to hold its inaugural Restaurant Week April 13–19.
The township’s tourism & economic development advisory council coordinated the new event to drive business to dining establishments in the area.
In an op-ed on the initiative, Hopewell Mayor David Chait shared, “As communities across the nation celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, the Hopewell Township Committee and staff are organizing a number of events throughout the year marking this special moment, with outsized meaning here where Washington’s crossed the Delaware and truly changed the world.
This includes celebrating in the most delicious way possible, by bringing residents and local businesses together for a week dedicated to food, community, and hometown pride.
When you dine out during Restaurant Week, you’re not just enjoying a great meal. You’re investing in the community.
– Hopewell Mayor David Chait, in a Community News op-ed
“When you dine out during Restaurant Week, you’re not just enjoying a great meal. You’re investing in the community. Supporting our local businesses matters.
“As we celebrate America’s 250th, it’s worth remembering that small businesses like our local restaurants are the engine of the American economy. They employ over 50% of workers, and create two-thirds of all net new jobs. Every meal you enjoy locally is a vote of confidence in our community,” the Democratic mayor wrote.
According to the township, eateries involved in Restaurant Week will either have a special menu or offer for the promotion. For more information, click here.
