MikeWorldWide is expanding its capabilities with the acquisition of HudsonLake, a strategic communications firm focused on organizational change, employee experience and workforce strategy. The move reflects how companies increasingly manage reputation from the inside out.
Announced May 6, the deal brings workforce communications directly into MWW’s core offerings. It positions the firm to advise clients across the full spectrum of stakeholders — from employees and leadership teams to customers, regulators and the public.
MWW says the acquisition comes as organizations face growing pressure to align internal culture with external messaging, particularly as reputation is increasingly shaped in real time by employees, customers and other stakeholders.
Terms were not immediately disclosed.
HudsonLake will continue operating under its name as a MikeWorldWide company. The target brings deep experience in areas including organizational transformation, leadership communications, talent strategy and labor relations. Its client roster spans major brands such as Toyota, 7-Eleven, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. HudsonLake boasts a strong presence in sectors like healthcare, transportation and professional services.
The move also builds on MWW’s broader strategy to create a fully integrated communications platform.
The firm has steadily expanded its capabilities through acquisitions. It added Berk Communications in February 2025, which strengthened its sports and lifestyle portfolio.
With HudsonLake, workforce strategy becomes a central pillar.
“The future of reputation is continuous, connected, and built from the inside out,” said Michael Kempner, CEO and founder of MikeWorldWide. “Organizations are judged in real time by how they operate, not just how they communicate.
With the addition of HudsonLake, we’ve built a model designed for where reputation is going, not where it’s been.

“Workforce communications has been a critical seat at the table. With the addition of HudsonLake, we’ve built a model designed for where reputation is going, not where it’s been.”
Cynthia Hudson, founder of HudsonLake, said there is no better partner to propel the firm into its next chapter.
“By joining MikeWorldWide, HudsonLake will not just keep pace, it will have the next-gen tools, resources, scale and complimentary capabilities to outpace the expectations of its client partners and continue to be a ‘best place to work’ for its people,” she said.
HudsonLake CEO Don Smialowicz emphasized the strategic fit. He noted the combination strengthens the connection between internal culture and external reputation.
“Joining MikeWorldWide expands that impact … unlocking greater value across every stakeholder group,” he said. “MWW’s capabilities – spanning AI, data and analytics, digital strategy and influencer engagement – add depth and precision to how we deliver that work. We’re excited to join forces with the MWW family and create even greater outcomes for our clients and our talented team.”
As part of the integration, MWW also plans to expand its presence in Washington, including the relaunch and growth of its DC Metro office. The play reinforces the firm’s positioning at the intersection of communications, policy and public affairs.
The latest acquisition also comes as MWW approaches its 40th anniversary (HudsonLake is marking its 25th). After four decades, the firm continues to evolve its footprint from its New Jersey roots to a broader national and global platform.
While its headquarters is now based in Manhattan, MWW maintains a significant presence in New Jersey. Its offices in Hasbrouck Heights and Trenton support state, regional and national public affairs work.
