Playa Bowls is thanking loyal customers with a special discount on National Acai Bowl Day.

According to the Belmar-based chain, customers enrolled in the complimentary program will receive $5 off any bowl purchase April 6.

The one-day only offer is available at participating shops nationwide. It is redeemable by ordering in-person, online or through the Playa Bowls’ mobile app.

Founded in 2014, Playa Bowls offers acai, green, pitaya and coconut bowls, as well as juices and smoothies. Now considered a leader in the national superfruit bowl shop segment, the Sycamore Partners-owned chain’s footprint has grown to more than 300 locations in 27 states. It has over 80 spots in New Jersey.

The promotion comes as Playa Bowls is preparing to launch its latest outpost in Mercer County. To celebrate its April 5 grand opening at 400 Route 130 in East Windsor, the chain will give away free bowls and custom shirts to the first 75 guests who arrive at 11 a.m.
