The Yard will serve as New Brunswick‘s official watch party headquarters for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The designation creates a central gathering spot for fans throughout the tournament.
The mixed-use development is located on the Rutgers University campus. The space will broadcast every match outdoors on a 350-square-foot jumbotron. The Yard will also offer open courtyard seating and room for fans to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
The events expect to draw students, residents and visitors from across the region. Organizers will also announce additional programming down the line.

“The Yard has always been a place where people come together,” said Christopher Paladino, president of the New Brunswick Development Corp. DEVCO manages the space. “There is no event in the world that generates more passion and enthusiasm than the World Cup, and The Yard is the perfect place for the diverse culture of New Brunswick to come together to celebrate.”
Mayor Jim Cahill echoed the World Cup’s ability to unite people. He said New Brunswick is proud to be part of the global celebration.
“Hosting World Cup watch parties at The Yard gives … an opportunity to experience the excitement of the tournament in a fun and welcoming environment,” said Cahill. “We are grateful to The Yard and the New Brunswick Development Corp. for creating a space where our community can come together, celebrate the game, and enjoy the energy and diversity that make New Brunswick such a special place.”
