The New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission took home some hardware at the 12th Annual Location Managers Guild International Awards.
Part of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the NJMPTVC was nominated for Outstanding Film Commission for “A Complete Unknown,” the Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet. Filmed almost entirely in the Garden State, the production received a nomination for Outstanding Locations in a Period Feature Film.
Anthony Pisani served as location manager for the film.
The LMGI Awards ceremony and reception took place Aug. 23 at the Eli & Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Calif. The awards highlight international features, television and commercials in which the creative use of filming locations sets the tone, enriches character and enhances storytelling.
At the awards, the NJMPTVC was recognized with the Outstanding Film Commission Award. Searchlight Pictures’ “A Complete Unknown” also won in its category.
“A big night for the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission with a win for Outstanding Film Commission at the 2025 Location Manager Guild International Awards ceremony,” Jon Crowley, NJMPTVC executive director wrote in a post on LinkedIn. “In addition to our great commissioners and hard-working staff, a big tip of the cap to NJEDA leadership and a Governor, Senate and Assembly who support the filmed arts.”
Crowley’s post also included Senior Advisor David Schoner, who has been with the film commission for 40 years, Crowley noted.
David Smith, vice chair of the NJMPTVC and partner at Princeton Public Affairs Group, wrote on LinkedIn about how exciting it was for the NJMPTVC to receive this “amazing honor,” thanking a number of key partners and stakeholders.
“Now in my 21st year as a Commissioner and 9th as the Vice Chair, the future has never been brighter for NJ film and television production,” said Smith.
