RoNetco Supermarkets Inc. is preparing to unveil its newest ShopRite in North Jersey, which will feature the grocery chain’s first hardware store-within-a-store.
Located at 1 Wiebel Plaza in Sussex Borough, the state-of-the-art supermarket will begin welcoming shoppers Oct. 25 following a 10 a.m. grand opening celebration with RoNetco executives, local community member and store associates.
Along with a wide selection of groceries, locally sourced goods and a variety of freshly prepared and restaurant-style meals, ShopRite of Sussex will have several specialty services, including a fresh, walk-in seafood market, full-service meat section and deli department.
It will also be the first ShopRite to feature an in-store True Value hardware department, which RoNetco said “will have everything customers need for DIY and home improvement projects.”
The supermarket has LED lighting and eco-friendly, energy-efficient refrigerated cases. Overall, it will employ 250 full- and part-time workers.
In a statement, Dominick Romano, RoNetco’s co-president and chief operating officer, said, “RoNetco Supermarkets has a long history of commitment to the communities where our ShopRite stores operate, and we look forward to officially becoming a part of the great Sussex community.”
Opening day festivities – which will run from noon to 5 p.m. – will include product demos and giveaways, live music, a face painter, balloon artist and a photo booth.
A member of Keasbey-based retailer co-op Wakefern Food Corp., family-owned RoNetco operates eight ShopRite locations in northwestern New Jersey: Byram, Flanders, Franklin, Mansfield, Netcong, Newton, Succasunna and Sparta.
ShopRite of Sussex will be open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.
