State officials launched a new, interactive digital hub, , to offer centralized and personalized career resources.

Announced March 14, the initiative is the result of a collaboration between the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the New Jersey State Office of Innovation, and Research Improving People’s Lives. RIPL is a tech nonprofit that works with governments to help them use data, science and technology to improve policy and lives.

Officials note the new hub’s design and development featured the input of hundreds of New Jerseyans as well as dozens of training providers, career coaches and academic experts. A beta process for the program began in 2022.

Accessible in English and Spanish, My Career NJ offers users:

  • Training programs and thousands of online classes for upskilling;
  • Career recommendations to fit specific skills and goals; and
  • Two new digital career tools –
    • NJ Training Explorer, which enables customized filtering of training programs, provides information on tuition assistance, and gives users insights into providers offering programs that meet their skill-building needs.
    • NJ Career Navigator, leveraging big data and machine learning to generate job and career recommendations that align with users’ skill sets, employment histories, and individual goals across a range of private and public employment sectors.

Gov. Phil Murphy says that his administration has made it a priority to expand employment opportunities as well as enable more New Jerseyans to leverage their unique skill sets in pursuit of their professional aspirations.

“Building a solid career is an integral step on the path to achieving life-long success, and by adding My Career NJ to the list of resources available to our communities, we are connecting New Jerseyans with the best available training and in-demand career opportunities to help them find meaningful work to support their families and thrive in an evolving job market,” said Murphy.

“The digital platform guides workers in developing industry-recognized credentials and career plans that are right for them,” said Asaro-Angelo. “These tools support residents on their journey to successful employment, and beyond.”

Additionally, New Jersey Chief Innovation Officer Dave Cole pointed out that hundreds of New Jerseyans have already shared their job search stories and provided valuable insights.
