The student-run radio stations at Rider University have received a record 11 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Media Awards nominations.
IBS recognized 107.7 The Bronc WRRC-FM and its online counterpart, 107.7 The Bronc Retro WRRC2. Established in 1940, the organization represents more than 1,000 education-affiliated radio stations and webcasters. The annual awards recognize exceptional programming from college and university radio stations across the country. IBS will announce winners at its Conference and Media Awards March 8 in New York City.
107.7 The Bronc has received much acclaim and recognition for its programming.
In fact, this year marks the third straight it received a nomination for Best Radio Station, after winning that award last year. The station also received nominations for the Marconi Award for College Radio Station of the Year in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. In 2024, William Paterson University took home that honor.
Additionally, Princeton Review recently ranked The Bronc the No. 9 Best College Radio Station.
“Our students continue to outperform the radio station’s goals and expectations,” said General Manager John Mozes.
Mozes said he is thrilled to see the students’ hard rewarded with these record 11 award nominations.
“Their dedication and passion for broadcast radio can always be heard on The Bronc and The Bronc Retro, but now the entire nation gets to see and hear the extraordinary effort our students put into honing their craft every day at Rider University,” said Mozes.
