As the founder and chairman of a top New Jersey law firm, Angelo Genova boasts a wide range of experience. As a litigator, he has handled complex commercial matters involving family members, partners, shareholders, vendors, contractors and business executives. And a wide range of clients have benefitted from his advice as a counselor.

The city of Newark is one large beneficiary of Genova’s ability and expertise. His firm, Genova Burns, is based in the city and he knows the place inside and out. When he talks about Newark, one can hear how deeply he cares about its past, present and especially its future. Last year, Genova chaired the first Newark Summit on real estate and economic development, which drew a high-powered list of government officials and business leaders to the Brick City.

Genova is also prominent in political and public policy circles. He was general counsel to the state Democratic Party for 25 years and is a former commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. In addition, Genova served as chairman of the New Jersey Urban Development Corporation and worked on the transition for former New Jersey Governor James Florio in 1989.
