The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants named Christopher Lovasz as its president for the 2026-27 term. A managing director at Deloitte & Touche LLP, his appointment is effective June 1.

Lovasz succeeds John Szczomak of Smolin, Lupin & Co., who now serves as immediate past president of the Board of Trustees for the current term.

He spent 24 years in audit and attest services across industries including technology, retail, construction and nonprofit organizations.
