Shoppers can Just Walk Out thanks to frictionless payment

New Jersey’s first Amazon Fresh store opened in Paramus July 21.
The store, located at 30 E. Ridgewood Ave., features frictionless payment Just Walk Out Shopping, which allows customers to skip the checkout line.
Through the new technology, shoppers scan an app upon entering the store and get to browsing. Then, they can simply place items in their carts – without needing to scan them – and walk out when they’re done, at which point they will then be charged for their purchases.
The store, open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, is approximately 50,000 square feet and accepts cash, SNAP/EBT, or credit or debit card for those opting for traditional checkout. Those that opt to Just Walk Out can pay via credit or debit card or by using the In-Store QR code in the Amazon app to shop.
The weekend following the opening, the store will have giveaways, free samples, and special discounts.
