[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Keeping kosher? Herzog’s companies Kayco and Royal Wine Corp., based in Bayonne, certainly have a place in your pantry. The Herzog family started Kayco in 1948 and brought Royal Wine over to the United States from their Slovakian hometown around the same time.

The kosher food industry has grown since then and in 2017 was pegged at $24 billion. It’s projected to increase 11.5% by 2025. Kayco’s already impressive market share increased in 2019 when it acquired kosher-aisle pillar Manischewitz.

Herzog himself keeps a low profile, but his surname is the namesake for Baron Herzog wines, which fall under the Royal Wine umbrella alongside dozens of others and the Seder staple Kedem grape juice, which is made at the company’s Bayonne facility.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
