A Staten Island-based concept specializing in roast beef sandwiches and burgers, On A Roll is making its New Jersey debut.

In a social media post, the concept announced plans to open “soon” at 349 Route 9 S. in Manalapan. Additional details on the grand opening timeline were not provided.

Founded in 2022 by Nicholas Bruzzese, the fast-casual brand serves hot roast beef sandwiches, hamburgers, crispy chicken sandwiches and fish sandwiches made using freshly-baked Kaiser rolls.

Its menu also includes classic comfort foods, like fries, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders and milkshakes.

According to On A Roll’s website, Bruzzese developed the brand based on his family’s decades of experience in the restaurant industry. His background includes managing his family’s Roll-n-Roaster roast beef spot in Brooklyn, as well as owning pizzerias, delis, bagel shops and Italian restaurants before starting On A Roll.

On A Roll is also looking to expand beyond its single company-owned location on Staten Island via a newly launched franchise program. 

According to On A Roll, the New Jersey store in Manalapan will open as the company’s first franchised location. A representative from the brand did not immediately respond to a request for details on who will own and operate the upcoming site.
