Oritani Bank names chief compliance officer

Oritani Bank, a community bank based in Washington Township, has promoted an executive to senior vice president and chief compliance officer, it announced Tuesday.Jason E. Wallace had been Oritani’s Bank Secrecy Act compliance officer for more than a year, it said in a news release. In his new role, he will identify and address regulatory issues and changes dealing with everything from retail banking to corporate security and lending compliance.

“We are pleased to promote Jason to a position that will utilize his expertise in the entire field of regulatory compliance,” Kevin J. Lynch, the bank’s chairman, CEO and president, said in a prepared statement.

Before joining Oritani, Wallace worked for McGladrey LLP, handling work plans, budgets and other projects for global financial institution engagements. He has also worked for Bank of New York Mellon and Citi, among other financial institutions.

Oritani Bank has 26 branches in four New Jersey counties.
