3Phase Elevator Corp., a group of independent elevator companies headquartered in Canton, Mass., announced April 20 it merged with TEC Elevator Inc., a full-service elevator company based in Pennsauken.

Along with 3Phase’s major brand in the region, Excel Elevator & Escalator, the move expands 3Phase’s footprint in the New Jersey, Philadelphia and Delaware markets while giving TEC more technical capabilities, broader product versatility, more financial backing and broader insurance coverages, the announcement stated.

The existing TEC team, led by Dave Hollingsworth, Rich McCormick and Jim McCabe, will continue to manage local operations.

Harvey & Co. served as financial advisor to 3Phase for this transaction. No other terms of the agreement were disclosed.

“We are excited to join the 3Phase family of independent elevator service providers and to partner with its existing team in the Philadelphia and New Jersey region,” Hollingsworth said in a statement. “The 3Phase Team shares TEC’s commitment to our customers and quality service and will enhance our business with investments in technology and sound business processes which will help us further serve our customers.”

Describing TEC as “a market leader among area independents,” 3Phase CEO Mike Strachan added that the teams will collaborate with each other in the region.
