Shinjuku Station Revolving Bar is putting its spin on New Jersey.

After making its local debut last year in South Plainfield, the all-you-can-eat chain plans to open the following sites soon:

  • Springfield 130 Route 22
  • Clifton The Promenade Shops at Clifton
  • Montgomery Township Montgomery Promenade
  • Woodbury 1500 Almonesson Road

Named after a busy rail station in Tokyo, Japan, offers a tech-driven dining experience that includes revolving conveyer belts, tableside robot service and tablet ordering systems.

Its menu includes sushi, hibachi and teriyaki options as well as appetizers, desserts and drinks.

A decades-old Japanese dining concept, conveyor belt sushi has gained momentum in the U.S. over the past few years. Several chains have opened across New Jersey, including Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and Supra Revolving Sushi.

Besides South Plainfield, Shinjuku Station has restaurants open in Harrisburg, Pa., and High Point, N.C. An additional 17 locations are in development across the U.S.

At The Promenade Shops in Clifton, Shinjuku Station will join a tenant mix that includes:
  • Bakery café concept Paris Baguette
  • Fitness chain LA Fitness
  • Luxury medical spa VIO Med Spa
  • Steakhouse chain J. Alexander’s
  • Beauty retailer Sephora
  • Women’s apparel seller Chico’s
  • Mexican fast-casual chain Moe’s Southwest Grill
  • Regional restaurant chain Tommy’s Tavern + Tap

According to Elmwood Park-based , Shinjuku Station is expected to open its 5,000-square-foot space later this year at the popular Route 3 lifestyle center.
