Another steakhouse chain has arrived in New Jersey.
Following a March 3 grand opening at 852 Route 3 in Clifton, J. Alexander’s is welcoming guests to its first in-state restaurant.
At J. Alexander’s, the menu includes prime rib, hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, burgers, salads, sandwiches and house-made dessert, as well as handcrafted cocktails and wine.
Founded in 1971, the SPB Hospitality-owned chain has nearly 40 locations nationwide.
In addition to its signature American cuisine, the Nashville-based brand strives to offer “a refined dining experience with a focus on quality and hospitality.”
Commenting on the grand opening in Clifton, J. Alexander’s Senior Director of Marketing Shawn Van Winkle said, “We’re honored to be welcomed into the community with open arms.”
“Bringing J. Alexander’s to New Jersey has been a key part of our growth strategy and we look forward to sharing our passion for culinary excellence here in the Garden State. We can’t wait to introduce our refined, unique dining experience to the community,” Van Winkle said.
Opening-day festivities in Clifton included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the North Jersey Chamber of Commerce. The restaurant also made a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Clifton, a nonprofit dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential.
J. Alexander’s is open Monday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for dining in or takeout. There’s also a private room for a variety of dining occasions, from casual meals to special celebrations.
At The Promenade Shops at Clifton, J. Alexander’s joins a dining lineup that includes Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, Paris Baguette, It’s Greek To Me, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Crepe Castle and Tio’s Tacos + Tequila.
J. Alexander’s debut fell on the same day that Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar opened its third New Jersey restaurant in Montvale. Fleming’s is an upscale concept owned by Bloomin’ Brands, the Tampa-based parent company of popular chains including Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill.
