Upscale food hall chain Wonder is making its Passaic County debut.
Located at 1627 Route 23 in Wayne, the eatery is scheduled to hold a March 5 grand opening event.
Following a 4:30 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony, the first 100 guests in line will receive giveaways from Wonder and free food samples, the company said.
At Wonder’s 100-plus locations across the Northeast, customers can mix-and-match menu items from a collection of nearly two dozen acclaimed chefs and eateries in a single order. Everything is then made-to-order for delivery, pickup or limited dining in.
In Wayne, Wonder will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Other New Jersey openings coming soon include Ocean Township (April) and Emerson (May).
The company currently has 26 spots statewide.
When billionaire Marc Lore founded Wonder in 2018, the business focused on mobile kitchens that cooked up chef-designed meals outside customers’ homes. In 2023, Lore pivoted Wonder to revolve around brick-and-mortar locations that feature options from restaurants it has licensing deals with.

To support its goal to hit 1,000 outposts by 2029, Wonder has raised more than $2 billion so far. The startup’s headquarters is in New York City but it maintains an R&D facility in Parsippany.
Wonder has made several key acquisitions in the past two-and-half years, such as meal kit provider Blue Apron for $103 million, on-demand delivery platform Grubhub for $650 million and Sweetgreen’s automated kitchen technology business Spyce for $186.4 million.
Wonder also recently purchased restaurant rewards app Claim and popular New York City-based fast casual Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken.
