Healthy food café concept Vitality Bowls is coming to Wayne.
According to the California-based chain, husband-wife franchise team Hardik and Unnati Mistry expect to open their outpost at 1591-1593 Alps Road by mid-2026.
Founded in 2011, the chain focuses on quick, healthy meals made with clean, high-quality ingredients that pack nutritional value. Its menu includes acai bowls, smoothies, juices, salads, grain bowls, wraps and toasts.
The superfood café concept grew out of Roy and Tara Gilad’s search to find safe, healthy food alternatives after discovering their daughter’s severe food allergies. Now, with more than 126 locations open or in development, Vitality Bowls ranks as one of the fastest-growing franchises in the U.S. by Entrepreneur, Inc. 5000, Franchise Times and Fast Casual.
After opening New Jersey’s first Vitality Bowls two years ago in Harrison, married couple Amit and Geeta Patel added another outpost last spring in Hackensack.
The Mistrys announced plans in December 2025 to open the state’s third Vitality Bowls in nearby Clifton. At the time, a spokesperson told NJBIZ a lease had not yet been signed and the team was working to find the right real estate. According to Vitality Bowls, the couple will instead introduce Vitality Bowls at a recently built retail property on the corner of Hamburg Turnpike and Alps Road known as The Yard.
Vitality Bowls joins a tenant mix that includes Crumbl Cookies, GNC, European Wax Center, Mathnasium and District Taco.
Commenting on the planned launch in Wayne, Hardik Mistry said, “I’m proud to bring the brand’s health-driven mission to life locally, and I’m confident residents will quickly fall in love with our signature offerings that prove better-for-you food can still be incredibly delicious.”
A self-described entrepreneur with a background in IT, customer service and operations, Hardik Mistry added, “Through this upcoming Vitality Bowls opening, the Wayne community will gain access to new, healthy eating options that are not only nutritious, but also made with clean, high-quality ingredients.”
