Georgia-based southern chain Zaxbys is making its New Jersey debut.

Located at 804 N. White Horse Pike in , the fast-casual brand is scheduled to begin serving customers Dec. 15.

Spanning 3,000 square feet, the eatery features 40 seats for dine-in guests and drive-thru services. It will also support delivery through the Zaxbys’ app, as well as third-party platforms including DoorDash, Grubhub and Uber Eats.

Founded in 1990, Zaxbys is known for its signature sauces, fried chicken, sandwiches and salads. It now has over 950 outposts across the U.S.

The says its push into New Jersey is part of a larger expansion effort aimed at reaching 1,000 restaurants by the end of 2025. The upcoming Camden County site marks the brand’s first Northeast location.

According to a press release, Zaxbys expects to employ about 50 people. Interested applicants can apply on Indeed or visit the restaurant once it’s open.

More to come

In Magnolia, the restaurant marks the first of six units under development locally by GSP Group. Led by Premanand Gupta, owns and operates several other franchise businesses in New Jersey. Its banners include Wingstop, Subway, Dunkin’ and Paris Baguette.

The team recently unveiled a Blaze Pizza spot in Linden. It also expects to add nine more sites statewide as part of a multi-unit pact with that franchise.

In a statement, Gupta shared, “We’re honored to open the first Zaxbys in New Jersey and bring something truly special to this community. This is just the beginning — our goal is to create jobs, serve quality food and make Zaxbys a new favorite for families and friends across the Garden State.”

Taral Patel, GSP Group operations partner, echoed that sentiment. He added they were excited to “bring Zaxbys to even more fans throughout the Northeast.”

Additional details were not available on when or where GSP Group will launch additional Zaxbys restaurants.

Committed to long-term growth in NJ

However, Zaxbys Vice President of Franchise Sales Bert Lane told NJBIZ that GSP Group is “on track to build the brand’s presence throughout the state in coming years.”

He went on say that the chain is “committed to long-term growth in the Garden State” and expects to open “multiple locations across both North and South Jersey over the next three to five years.”

“We see New Jersey as a priority growth market and are actively working with qualified franchise groups, like the GSP Group, to build a strong footprint throughout the state,” said Lane. He also noted the state’s “dense, diverse population and mix of suburban, urban, and commuter communities.”

“These demographics align well with Zaxbys’ menu offerings and flexible restaurant formats, creating a strong foundation for growth,” he said.
