Hoboken-born healthy fast casual chain Alfalfa is sprouting its newest location in New Jersey.
The eatery is set to host a June 6 grand-opening event featuring giveaways at the new 725 River Road location in Edgewater.
The festivities run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The first 100 guests will receive a goodie bag containing gift cards, partner products and other surprises, according to Alfalfa.
The event will also raffle off more than $800 worth of prizes. According to the eatery, perks include Alfalfa gift cards, two free passes to Sojo Spa Club, a Lululemon set, one month of unlimited classes at Basecamp Fitness and a Lit Lab Co. essential care package.
Additionally, one winner will receive a $250 Alfalfa gift card as part of a “golden ticket” giveaway.
Founded in 2018 by childhood friends Dan Sobsey, Dan Londono and Andrew Arrospide, Alfalfa serves salads, wraps, breakfast burritos, coffee and gluten-free doughnuts.
Alfalfa started out as a vendor at a farmers market in Hoboken and then expanded into a pop-up before opening its first storefront in the city in 2019. Since then, it’s expanded to add a second site in Hoboken, as well as shops in Princeton and Jersey City. Alfalfa also has two locations in California (Santa Monica and Larchmont).
In Edgewater, Alfalfa takes over a 2,300-square-foot space that previously housed a bagel shop.
The lineup at Edgewater Marketplace also features Trader Joe’s, Paris Baguette, Massage Envy, J. Crew Factory and Orangetheory Fitness.
