Ahead of National Doughnut Day, popular chains are unveiling freebies and special treats for the June 5 food holiday.

So far, the list of participating brands includes many that have a presence in New Jersey, such as 7-Eleven, Dunkin’ and Krispy Kreme.

Brandon Brown is senior vice president of fresh foods and beverages at 7-Eleven. He remarked, “Sometimes, the best celebrations are the simplest ones, like a fresh donut and a great deal. National Donut Day gives customers a fun reason to treat themselves and these offers make every coffee run, snack stop or midday break a little sweeter.”

Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme chief brand & product officer, described the day as “one of our most joyful traditions” and “a moment to celebrate the doughnuts people love, the guests who inspire us every day and the simple happiness that comes from sharing something sweet.”

Here are a few of the promotions already announced:

7-Eleven

All day June 5, rewards members can get a classic glazed doughnut for 50 cents. There’s no limit to how many can be purchased. Plus, through June 23, 7-Select mini doughnut packs are available for $1 each. Locally, the convenience store chain has more than 350 stores.

Bonchon

The Korean fried chicken chain is offering a free Korean doughnut with any purchase of $15 or more from June 5–7 to customers who use the code DONUTDAY at checkout on Bonchon.com or via the app. Bonchon has nine locations across the state.

Duck Donuts

Guests can score one free classic doughnut – no purchase necessary – in store June 5. Additionally, they can get a half-dozen classic doughnuts for $6 or a half-dozen party doughnuts for $8 that day. Any customer buying a dozen doughnuts will receive a free rubber duck, too. Duck Donuts has 12 shops across New Jersey.

Dunkin’

Customers will receive an offer for a free doughnut with every in-store or in-app beverage purchase June 5. Within New Jersey, the brand has 865-plus storefronts.

Krispy Kreme

On June 5, customers can get any doughnut of their choice for free – no purchase necessary. Additionally, all guests can buy a dozen original glazed doughnuts for just $2 with the purchase of any dozen in-store or via drive-thru. Krispy Kreme has five locations statewide. Meanwhile, DoorDash is giving$7 off orders of $25 or more at Krispy Kreme from June 4–18. The offer is available in the delivery platform’s app.

Paris Baguette

On June 5, rewards members can enjoy their choice of a free sugar mochi doughnut or small twisted doughnut with any purchase. The bakery café chain – which has its U.S. headquarters in Moonachie – has more than 30 spots in New Jersey.

Purple Glaze Donuts

For each doughnut purchased June 5, the Asbury Park shop will donate $2 to support the work of The Salvation Army’s local chapter.

Tim Horton’s

Between June 1–7, the chain is giving rewards members a free classic or specialty doughnut with the purchase of any beverage. The in-app offer can be redeemed once a day. The chain has 12 locations in New Jersey.
