Plymouth Rock Assurance is thanking teachers from New Jersey and Pennsylvania with a free day at the beach.
“Teacher Week at the Beach” is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 30 to Aug. 1 at Jenkinson’s Beach & Boardwalk in Point Pleasant. Current and retired educators can take part. The promotion will offer a free beach pass for individual use and for a guest. It also includes admission for two to either mini golf or the aquarium.
The three-day appreciation event launched in 2016. Since, Plymouth Rock’s Teachers’ Insurance Plan has welcomed thousands of teachers and school staff to kick back, relax and enjoy the boardwalk.
According to the Woodbridge-based insurance provider, the program has been on hiatus since 2020 “due to COVID-19.” When it returns later this month, Plymouth Rock expects Teacher Week to draw more than 3,000 educators.
Plymouth Rock Assurance President and CEO Greg Kalinsky said, “We’re excited to bring back Teacher Week at the Beach, an event that reflects our deep appreciation for educators and the incredible work they do.”
“Supporting the education community has always been central to our mission, and hosting this event is our way of saying thank you for the countless hours, unwavering commitment, and lasting impact teachers make every day. We’re thrilled to now welcome educators from both New Jersey and Pennsylvania to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved day of fun at the Jersey Shore,” he said.
Attendees must pre-register here. Registrants can pick up their one-day pass at the Plymouth Rock Teachers’ Insurance Plan’s event table near the Parkway Avenue entrance to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk July 30 to Aug. 1, 9 a.m. through 2:30 p.m.
Participants must show proof of employment to receive a pass, Plymouth Rock said. Accepted forms include a school ID, union ID or Teachers’ Insurance Plan policyholder ID.
