Restaurant Depot has been open to restaurant personnel exclusively for 40 years.

That is, until now: the restaurant stocking warehouse is opening its doors at all locations, including 8 in New Jersey, to the public.

Restaurant Depot will temporarily issue free day passes to the general public during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Everyone deserves access to the products that they need to live their daily lives, so we want to do our part to ensure that nobody is going to wonder how they’ll get through the week,” a spokesperson said via email.

There is an abundance of products ranging from dry goods to fresh produce, according to the email.

“It pains us to think of people going without vital commodities that we have access to, so we’re more than prepared to answer the government’s call of duty and help feed the country by sharing our resources in this time of disruption,” said the spokesperson.

The day pass program began Tuesday and will be evaluated weekly.
