The Rizzieri Aveda School in South Jersey – the first beauty school in the state, according to the business – turns 100 in 2024, as it continues to educate new generations of beauty professionals. After getting its start in Philadelphia under Franco Cipriotti, an immigrant from Italy, the school expanded to Camden four years later. In 1975, it relocated to Haddonfield under the leadership of Cirpriotti’s daughter Anne, her husband, Sal Rizzieri, and their son, current President Frank. In 1995, a state-of-the-art facility opened in Marlton, incorporating a school, salon, day spa and store, before moving again to Rizzieri Aveda School’s current home in Voorhees in 2009. That 14,500-square-foot campus offers classroom and clinical spaces that incorporate digital as well as hands-on training. Underscored by the progressive approach to its spaces, Rizzieri Aveda School also prides itself on staying in front of industry trends, technologies and methods. Its programs include cosmetology; skin care & esthetician; barber school; and nail technician & manicurist certification. The school says it has an 86% completion rate, 69% placement rate and 99% licensure rate. Within the community, Rizzieri Aveda School supports the Voorhees Animal Orphanage. Frank Rizzieri also helped launch the You are Beautiful program, which offers free wigs and scarves to cancer patients undergoing treatment.
