O’Connor got into real estate because she was a married mother of four young children seeking a flexible way to earn additional income doing something she was passionate about – whether helping a buyer identify a home they can enjoy for years to come, working with builders to find land and create a subdivision or helping a seller achieve their goal of moving onto the next phase of their life. Following a successful career in real estate sales, marketing and management, O’Connor started her own business in 1991.The growth of the company has been driven by her son, Matthew O’Connor, vice president and relocation director; daughter Katy O’Connor Smiechowski, director of professional development and education; and son Joseph O’Connor, sales associate and professional photographer joining the firm. Across its eight offices (Allendale, Franklin Lakes, Hasbrouck Heights, Kinnelon, Ramsey, Ridgewood, Saddle River and Wyckoff), the firm has about 475 agents and 40 full-time staff members.
