Holy Name Medical Center is welcoming a new chief financial officer.
The Teaneck-based hospital announced the appointment of Douglas Zehner to the CFO post in a Jan. 20 press release.
Zehner’s 30-plus year career includes financial and operational leadership positions at some of the country’s most prestigious health care systems. Most recently, he was Northeast regional CFO at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health (RWJBH).
Achievements during Zehner’s five-year tenure at RWJBH include the launch of a financial planning division. In addition to assessing the impact of major investments, the segment provides oversight of campus revitalization projects. He also implemented operational improvements to boost capacity and reduce wait times. Additionally, he collaborated with academic medical programs to expand clinical services and faculty practices across RWJBH’s multi-campus system, according to the press release.
Prior to that, Zehner worked at Newark Beth Israel. He began as CFO in 2014 and was named chief operating officer at the hospital two years later. His background also includes CFO jobs at at hospitals around the country, including Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., and Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colo.
At Holy Name, Zehner will focus on ensuring the health care provider remains fiscally strong while supporting strategic growth and operational excellence as the system enters its 100th year.

Zehner succeeds Ryan Kennedy, who held the position since June 2014.
