Newsweek lists NJ's best plastic surgeons

Newsweek unveiled its America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2026 list Aug. 4. The ranking includes 27 physicians who practice in New Jersey.

In total, 576 doctors across the United States were recognized for excellence in six cosmetic surgery procedures.

For this year’s list, Newsweek and data analysis firm Statista included physicians from only the 25 states with the most plastic surgeons in the nation. Healthcare providers who exclusively offer reconstruction or non-elective reconstruction or correction were excluded.

According to Montclair-based Plastic Surgery Group, as well as a listing on U.S. News & World Report, there are about 470 plastic surgeons who practice in New Jersey.

Getting social

Newsweek Healthcare Editor Alexis Kayser noted that demand for aesthetic procedures is on the rise.

“With America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2026, Newsweek aims to provide a trusted resource that helps patients identify leading specialists across the country,” Kayser said in statement accompanying the publication’s Best Plastic Surgeons list.

Newsweek evaluated these six cosmetic surgery procedures:

Breast augmentation
Eyelid surgery
Facelift
Liposuction
Rhinoplasty
Tummy tuck

According to Grand View Research, the global cosmetic surgery and procedure market is projected to grow from $80 billion in 2026 to $161.3 billion by 2033. Analysts noted that the “industry is driven by a growing awareness of aesthetic treatments, spurred by social media and celebrity culture …”

To determine their findings, Newsweek and Statista evaluated peer recommendations from thousands of medical professionals as well as quality-of-care assessments. Newsweek noted it tallied more than 10,000 votes for each procedure.

The findings also incorporated physicians’ voluntary certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
