Campbell Soup Co. is officially rebranding.

During the Camden-based food giant’s Nov. 19 annual meeting, shareholders approved a proposal to change the corporate name to The Campbell’s Co.

The move comes as the company continues to expand beyond its traditional business into snacks, sauces and beverages.

Following the vote, Campbell’s President and CEO Mark Clouse said, “This subtle yet important change allows us to retain the iconic name recognition, reputation and equity we have built over 155 years while reflecting the full breadth of our portfolio—which I believe is the best in all of food.”

For Campbell’s, soup remains an important part of the business, with more than $1 billion in sales annually.

However, the core soup lineup now accounts for only 25% of total sales, down more than 40% over the past seven years, Food Dive noted. At the same time, Campbell’s snacks division makes up around half, which is an increase from just under 30%.

Mixing it up

In recent years, the company has made several changes to its portfolio. That includes its $6.1 billion purchase of snacks manufacturer Snyder’s-Lance in 2018 and the $2.7 billion acquisition of Rao’s sauces maker Sovos Brands this past March.

Campbell’s sold off its Emerald Nuts snack brand last year to private label health snacks maker Flagstone Foods. Additionally, the company divested its Pop Secret popcorn business to Boonton-based wholesome snack manufacturer Our Home.

The company’s lineup includes three $1 billion brands – Campbell’s, Goldfish and Pepperidge Farm, with a fourth on the horizon in Rao’s.

Clouse stated, “As The Campbell’s Company, we will build on our legacy of quality and innovation, while continuing to grow and meet the evolving needs of consumers. We love soup and always will. The iconic red and white Campbell’s soup labels that consumers love will be on shelves forever.”

The new corporate name was first discussed at Campbell’s Fiscal 2025 Investor Day in September, when the company outlined a new strategy and mission to set the standard for performance in the food industry.

According to the company, the change will be effective following the filing of an amendment to its certificate of incorporation with the state of New Jersey.
