Wakefern Food Corp. banner ShopRite was dubbed the “most trusted grocery retailer in the Northeast” in a BrandSpark International survey conducted in partnership with Newsweek magazine.
The partners surveyed 3,200 U.S. adults nationwide on their opinions of grocery stores regionally. Retailers were judged according to store format and several attributes believed to drive trust, including quality, fair prices, recommendation, innovation, customer support, values, transparency and heritage.
ShopRite nabbed the Northeast’s No. 1 spot.
“At a time when shoppers have so many choices, we are extremely proud to have been singled out and recognized by our shoppers as their most-trusted supermarket of choice,” said Chief Communications Officer Karen Meleta in a prepared statement. “As a cooperative of family-owned and operated businesses, gaining the trust of our customers begins with a commitment to providing fresh, quality foods in a shopping environment where our customers feel welcomed and respected. This has been a hallmark of the brand for more than seven decades.”
In the South, the Midwest, the West and nationally, Walmart swept the No. 1 spot, making the Northeast the only place it didn’t come in first.
The big box retailer nabbed the No. 2 two spot in the region, behind ShopRite and in front of Aldi, Stop & Shop and Wegmans.
On ShopRite’s recognition, Meleta said, “We continue to remain focused on providing exceptional customer service, convenience, quality and value that ‘sparks’ our customers’ confidence and trust in our brand.”
