One of the oldest law practices in New Jersey, Stark & Stark, has new headquarters in Hamilton.
On May 3, the firm announced its move from Lawrenceville to a completely renovated office at the American Metro Center.
Stark & Stark said 200 employees will occupy the 76,000-square-foot space at 100 American Metro Blvd. The new office features high exterior windows, skylight rows and original steel beams.
Built in 1918, AMC was originally constructed as a manufacturing facility by American Standard. Today, it sits adjacent to the Hamilton New Jersey Transit train station.
“We are very excited to announce our commencement of operation in this new space,” Stark & Stark Managing Shareholder Michael Donahue said in a statement. “This is a new milestone in our history of commitment to our community. We truly look forward to bringing our clients, community partners, and employees to a space that is beautifully designed and provides state-of-the-art technology.”
Like other companies that have recently moved their spaces, Donahue pointed to the benefits the new location offers in terms of getting to the office.
“The location could not be more attractive,” he said. “Positioned just walking distance from the NJ Transit train station, the accessibility to New York, Philadelphia, and the Northeast Corridor are undoubtedly premier features for employees and clients.”
HOK served as architect, Bala Consulting Engineers provided engineering design services and Cranbury-based Sweetwater Construction Corp. served as general contractor for renovations to the firm’s new space. Watchdog provided project management support throughout the process.
Tactix Real Estate Advisors represented Stark & Stark as its commercial real estate brokerage, the firm said.
In particular, Donahue called out the firm’s COO for his efforts on the endeavor.
“The successful execution of this project was made possible through the meticulous coordination of operations within many departments and professionals managed by our Chief Operating Officer Gregory Deatz,” Donahue said.
Founded in 1933, Stark & Stark has additional office locations in Marlton and Bridgeton in New Jersey in addition to New York City and Yardley and Philadelphia, Pa. The firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment about how long it had been located at its previous headquarters.
