Ahead of National Bagel Day Jan. 15, Stop & Shop is giving away free bagels all week long.
Between Jan. 9–15, customers can score one free pick-your-own bagel from the bakery section at any of the Ahold Delhaize-owned supermarket chain’s 350-plus locations across the Northeast, according to an announcement. Within New Jersey, the grocer has 47 stores.
The offer can be redeemed and added onto shoppers’ rewards accounts by checking in at Stop & Shop’s in-store “Savings Station” kiosks, the chain said. No purchase is necessary. The freebie is limited to one bagel per household, according to Stop & Shop.
Available flavors include plain, everything, asiago, sesame, cinnamon raisin, egg, poppy seed, blueberry, onion and whole grain.
Leading up to the promotion, Stop & Shop said it conducted a survey to gauge consumer opinion on the breakfast staple.
According to a company spokesperson, the survey of 500 people who reside in the chain’s foot-print took place in December 2025.

In a statement, Stop & Shop President Roger Wheeler shared, “We know customers are looking for meaningful value every time they shop. Whether it’s a free bakery bagel for National Bagel Day or everyday deals, our Savings Station helps shoppers easily tap into great values across the store.”
Launched in December 2024, the Savings Station allow shoppers without a smartphone, internet or computer to quickly and easily activate weekly circular digital coupons as well as personalized offers.
