American Dream unveils World Cup fan fest lineup

American Dream has unveiled an expanded lineup of programming for its 39-day Dream Fan Fest surrounding the . The event positions the Meadowlands megamall as one of the region’s central hubs for fan viewing, entertainment and cultural events during the tournament.

The complex announced May 26 a packed calendar that will run from June 11 through July 19. The lineup includes watch parties, celebrity appearances, youth clinics, concerts, giveaways and brand activations.

The programming builds on American Dream’s April announcement unveiling Dream Fan Fest as a property-wide World Cup activation. Official World Cup match broadcasts will also air throughout the complex, with marquee viewing experiences centered at The Rink @ The Arena.

“We are thrilled to unveil a dynamic lineup of programming that will position American Dream as the premier destination in the region to watch and celebrate the tournament,” said Adam Petrick, chief marketing officer, American Dream. “From gameday hospitality to immersive fan experiences beyond the matches, we are ready to welcome and entertain millions of visitors from around the world.”

American Dream said the festival will make it “the only destination in the region activating for the full duration of the tournament.” The property will offer daily programming in a climate-controlled environment.

The lineup

Among the marquee events is an Adidas kickoff celebration June 11 ahead of the Mexico-South Africa opener. The event will feature media personalities Lulu and Lala, giveaways and a mariachi band. Meanwhile, a USA watch party June 12 will feature retired U.S. Men’s National Team players Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea.

Additional highlights include:

  • June 14: Sesame Street-themed Learn & Play featuring Elmo and Cookie Monster
  • June 17 and June 24: NJ/NY Gotham FC takeover events
  • June 19: New York Giants Day
  • June 20: Sweden watch party featuring chef Marcus Samuelsson
  • June 23: New York Jets fan experience
  • June 25: An official U.S. Soccer Day watch party

The schedule includes eight youth soccer clinics hosted by Red Bull New York on June 14, 18, 20 and 28, as well as July 8, 12, 16 and 18. Pregame parties with iHeartMedia and DJ Prostyle – including appearances by DJ Envy – are planned for June 19 and 26, along with July 2, 3 and 10.

Programming in Court A will feature DJs, dance performances, trivia contests and cultural activations. A two-day showcase June 11 and 12 from New York Cosmos will display rare memorabilia from late soccer legend Pelé.

American Dream said the fan fest is part of a broader slate of World Cup-related initiatives taking place across the property this summer.

That also includes La Plaza de Fútbol. Developed with the New Jersey Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the 39-day small business marketplace and cultural activation aims to showcase up to 1,000 New Jersey small businesses during the tournament.

American Dream has increasingly positioned itself as a major World Cup destination ahead of the tournament. According to the property, the Dream Fan Fest will span its entire campus, leveraging hundreds of retailers, dozens of restaurants and entertainment attractions and also providing a key logistical hub near MetLife Stadium.

The property also recently expanded its own soccer footprint. An Adidas flagship soccer store opened in February, while The Messi Experience will also make its debut soon.

On match days, American Dream said fans will have access to thousands of parking spaces and a direct pedestrian bridge access to MetLife Stadium. Restaurants and attractions will remain open throughout the tournament.
