Multistate operator Sweetspot Brands is celebrating the grand opening of its first medical cannabis dispensary in New Jersey.

Located at 903 White Horse Road in Voorhees Township, Sweetspot Dispensary is the 29th medical dispensary in the Garden State and the first business from the state’s 2019 round of licensing to begin serving medical patients.

After the New Jersey Health Department posted a request for applications to select entities to operate alternative treatment centers, it received 109 submissions. Ultimately, it approved 30 dispensary permit endorsements, including Sweetspot Dispensary, in December 2019.

Since being awarded the license, the company said it worked closed with the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC) and township officials to secure its final medical dispensary license and required local approvals.

Besides New Jersey, Rhode Island-based Sweetspot Brands operates dispensaries in its home state, Maine and Maryland.

According to Sweetspot Brands Chief Executive Officer Jason Webski, the New Jersey location will offer a comprehensive loyalty program and work with medical patients to help them find the products that work best for their individual needs.

“We have a great team in place to support the underserved medical cannabis community in douthern New Jersey,” said Webski. “We are going to offer high quality, affordable medicine to patients across South Jersey, and will be implementing innovative approaches to help personalize patient care and simplify what can sometimes feel like an inaccessible or confusing industry.”

Bryan Lucas, Sweetspot Brands general counsel and director of government affairs, said, “We are focused on building personal relationships with patients and other stakeholders in our community while working closely with state regulators and local officials to not only ensure regulatory compliance at all times, but build strong community partnerships.”
