Multistate operator Sweetspot is launching its first cannabis dispensary in Central Jersey.
Located at 147 Sloan Ave. in Hamilton, the store offers a curated selection of premium flower, pre-rolls, edibles, concentrates and accessories from licensed New Jersey cultivators and manufacturers.
The outpost also features a highly trained staff to help “both first-time and experienced customers,” Sweetspot says.
For the Rhode Island-based MSO, Hamilton marks its fourth shop in New Jersey. After making its in-state debut two years ago in Voorhees Township, Sweetspot added locations in Maplewood and River Edge.
Besides New Jersey, Sweetspot has five other dispensaries across its home state, as well as in Maryland, Vermont and Connecticut.
Founded in 2017, the MSO’s retail experience is designed with a strong focus on consumer education and service. Sweetspot caters to both cannabis novice and experts. It also is committed to supporting the local economy by offering competitive wages and benefits to employees.
Sweetspot in Hamilton is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to adults 21 and up with a valid government-issued ID.
Commenting on the grand opening, Sweetspot Hamilton franchisee Harry Patel said, “We’re excited to partner with Sweetspot to bring more legal cannabis options to Hamilton. Sweetspot’s track record on the East Coast made this an easy decision and we’re proud to bring their experience to Mercer County.”
In Hamilton, Sweetspot opened in a portion of the recently rebranded DeLorenzo’s Pizza. The well-known eatery announced it was temporarily closing last fall to convert the space into a “combination pizzeria-dispensary.”
The move came as the third generation of the family-run business tries to ensure its long-term survival.
Founded in 1938 by Pasquale and Maria DeLorenzo, the pizzeria became popular for its Trenton-style tomato pies. The restaurant frequently finds itself included on “Best Pizza” rankings by publications such as Food & Wine, The Star Ledger and Thrillist.
Initially, DeLorenzo’s was located in Trenton, first at the corner of Hudson and Mott streets and then on Hamilton Avenue. It moved to Hamilton in 2013.
Last year, DeLorenzo’s closed for about three weeks after the state reportedly seized the property for unpaid taxes. It reopened after owner Rick DeLorenzo Jr. raised roughly $20,000 in funds through a GoFundMe campaign and other resources.
After saving the business in March 2025, the current owner revealed plans that called for joint use of the building with a dispensary to help cut costs of the restaurant operation, according to NJ Advance Media.
The news outlet reported in December 2025 that the owner’s nephew is taking over the pizzeria and updating it to be similar with a restaurant he runs in Pennsylvania called The Burg.
