Scientific supplier and distributor Thomas Scientific in Swedesboro finalized a five-year contract with Florida State University, to which it will now supply laboratory products and services.

Thomas Scientific developed a cross-functional, companywide team to develop solutions for FSU, paving the way for this award granted Nov. 5.

“FSU’s goal was to provide their research community access to specialty laboratory supplies and lab services,” said Lewis McMillan, director of government sales at Thomas Scientific. “Our award brings exclusive suppliers and Thomas Scientific branded products to the University at competitive prices and terms.”

Thomas Scientific has been around for more than 120 years, but has built market momentum following four acquisitions during 2017 and 2018 including life science distributors Phenix Research Products and E&K Scientific. The companies were integrated in 2019.

“We’ve listened intently to the market over the past two years and have initiated strategies that allow us to develop the most beneficial solutions for our customers,” said Chief Commercial Officer Michael Klipstein. “The Florida State award is a testament to this strategic focus, in addition to the hard work of multiple departments within Thomas.”
