Located in the Montgomery Promenade shopping center in Skillman, the Amazon-owned grocery chain is planning an Aug. 21 grand opening.
The soon-to-open 45,000-square-foot outpost will carry more than 1,000 locally sourced items from Northeast producers, according to Whole Foods.
Inventory will include several New Jersey-based brands, such as Undercover Snacks quinoa crisps, Paper Plane Coffee Co. packaged coffee, Mushroom King Farm mushrooms and Hoboken Farms pasta sauce.
In addition to an array of certified organic, conventional and Sourced for Good produce and floral items, Whole Foods will have a curated grocery section filled with exclusive brand favorites and products from local suppliers.
There will be a seafood counter providing fresh, ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat options, as well as a variety of packaged smoked items. All offerings are either sustainable wild-caught or responsibly farmed, according to Whole Foods.
The full-service meat counter will have animal-welfare certified selections and be staffed by expert butchers who can cut steaks and poultry to order.
