Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is spinning its way into Morris County.

Located at The District at 15Fifteen in Parsippany, the Japan-based chain held a soft opening Aug. 9.

Founded 49 years ago in Japan, Kura is known for its pioneering approach that combines advanced technology, premium ingredients and affordable prices. The eatery utilizes innovations such as a revolving sushi bar, conveyor belt system, tableside tablets for ordering and drink delivery robots.

Kura’s menu of more than 100 dishes includes sushi, noodles, tempura, sides and desserts that are free of artificial sweeteners, seasonings, preservatives and colorings.

Globally, the brand has more than 650 sites. After entering the U.S. in 2008, it has grown to nearly 100 locations.

Since opening its first New Jersey site six years ago in Fort Lee, Kura has launched outposts in Cherry Hill, Edison, Freehold, Jersey City, Lawrenceville and Paramus.

To celebrate the grand opening in Parsippany, Kura has planned the following offers for Aug. 21:

• All sushi plates will be priced at $4.10
• Commemorative T-shirts to the first 150 seated guests

Additionally, rewards members who check in and dine between Aug. 21–23 will be automatically entered to win a gift card to redeem a year’s worth of food from Kura. According to the chain, five winners will receive a $300 gift card to cover one $25 meal per month at any Kura location nationwide.

In Parsippany, Kura occupies space at a newly delivered, 13-acre mixed-used development that replaced the former Intel Corporate Center. District 15Fiften includes nearly 500 apartments, as well as almost 60,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. A 156-room Residence Inn by Marriott is also planned for the property.

As of July 2026, the retail component was 65% leased, NJBIZ recently reported. Discover Strength fitness studio recently became the first tenant to open at District 15Fifteen.

Future openings will include O’Bagel, Pure Green, Hometown Creamery, Burton’s Grill & Bar, Meximodo, Al-Basha, Haraz Coffee House, The Yard Gym and Moxie Salon and Beauty Bar.
