The team at Cherry Hill-based Vantage Commercial said June 4 it sold the business and mixed-use real estate at Hopwood School and Camp, located in Lansdale, Pa.

The Hopwood School was established in 1968 as Hopwood Nursery Schoo,) and the Hopwood Summer Day Camp in 1981 by Ann and Richard Hopwood. Their daughter, Heidi Hopwood Geverd, and her husband, Brian Geverd, continued the legacy until 2021. The school’s enrollment grew through the years and the school became a staple in the community under the direction of Heidi and Brian.

In preparation for retirement, Heidi and Brian Geverd engaged the services of Vantage Commercial to perform a valuation of the business and real estate and to identify an operator capable of carrying on the family’s legacy.

Vantage Commercial sourced Cassey and Annie O’Rourke as operators that presented the most ideal combination of business acumen, cultural awareness and complementary management styles. They will continue to enforce the highest-quality educational standards, core values, and family-inspired environment that the Hopwood’s initiated while integrating the needs and desires of the modern family.

Vantage Commercial Executive Director Ken Richardson and Senior Advisor Corinne Giletto worked with both the buyer and seller to execute a successful sale of both Hopwood’s business and assets during COVID-19.
